Public trust guidance
Safeguarding on LearnMusic
LearnMusic is a UK music tutor marketplace. Safeguarding here means making teacher trust facts visible, keeping bookings and support routes traceable, and giving students, parents, guardians, and teachers clear ways to report concerns.
If someone is in immediate danger
LearnMusic is not an emergency service. If a child, young person, or adult is at immediate risk, call 999 or your local emergency services first.
For online child sexual exploitation concerns in the UK, you can also use the CEOP Safety Centre.
CEOP Safety CentreWhat we mean by teacher trust facts
Public profiles can show reviewed identity, DBS, qualification, safeguarding training, and insurance statuses when those checks have actually been reviewed.
A reviewed status is a trust signal, not a guarantee of conduct, teaching fit, or lesson outcome.
Teachers are independent providers on the marketplace; LearnMusic provides discovery, booking, messaging, payment, and support workflows around that relationship.
Safer platform use
Keep the lesson relationship traceable.
Current LearnMusic accounts use Clerk authentication. Lesson booking and checkout happen through LearnMusic and Stripe, while teacher payouts use Stripe Connect. Keeping the relationship on-platform helps us investigate support, payment, and safeguarding reports with the right context.
Keep bookings, payments, and lesson messages on LearnMusic so there is a clear account, booking, and support trail.
Use the teacher profile to check pricing, lesson mode, availability, and reviewed trust facts before booking.
For learners under 18, a parent or guardian should be involved in account setup, booking decisions, and any concern report.
Do not share unnecessary personal contact details, payment details, or sensitive documents in lesson messages.
Reporting a concern
Tell us what happened and whether anyone is at risk now.
Email team@learn-music.co.uk for safeguarding concerns, conduct concerns, or urgent account support. If your concern is mainly about a refund, payment, account, or service complaint, use the complaints page so we can route it correctly.
Email us from the account email address where possible, or include the learner/guardian contact details you want us to use.
Include the teacher or student name, booking date, message thread context, screenshots if relevant, and whether anyone is at immediate risk.
We prioritise active safeguarding concerns, payment loss, and live booking issues, and may restrict accounts, preserve records, or escalate externally where appropriate.
On-platform messages may be moderated or reviewed when a safety report, blocked message, abuse report, or policy concern needs investigation. We do not ask for card details in messages; payments are handled by Stripe checkout flows.
Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, not a badge claim.
LearnMusic can make checks visible and support routes clearer. Students, parents, guardians, and teachers should still use their judgement, keep important activity on-platform, and report concerns early.
